Cruisers are always big in the style department.

However they vary greatly from the North American touring motorcycle because they were based off the sport motorcycle architecture rather than a cruiser. A true tourer will get 250 kms on a tank. The seating position on a cruiser is like a sofa and theyre designed to make lots of noise.
Big chrome forks wire spoke wheels and the teardrop gas tanks are all part of classic cruiser design. A tourer cruiser motorcycle is typically well-planted with a large engine long wheelbase and is highly stable because of its enormous weight. The Harley Davidson Cruiser has a massive build and often is more durable and has more power.
Comfort is king with a touring bike and there is a lot of practicality in the design. The sidewalls of the majority of available sizes feature Premium Touch Technology to emphasise the premium credentials of the MICHELIN Commander III Cruiser and of the motorcycles it equips. The touring bike is traditionally built for comfort reliability and long trips.
Of course there are exceptions to all of these. Their size weight and sometimes their tires however limits their off-road capability. Of all the categories of different motorcycles available none is more misunderstood than that of the touring bike.
This is because many people who ride farther distances need to be able to bring luggage and even have a passenger. Custom bikes are usually cruiser models also. I think its mostly semantics but to me the main difference is range.
Cruisers especially Harleys and Indians are often modified with touring bags extended seats sometimes even radios and wind fairings. Most adventure motorcycles function well on graded dirt and gravel roads but are less than ideal on. It takes a couple weeks to get used to a new position but IMO sport-touring bikes have the most natural sustainable position for.
